Nordic Kingfish is part of Nordic Aquafarms. Nordic Aquafarms was established in 2015 with the aim to be a leading player in land-based aquaculture with production close to large markets, and has companies in Norway, Denmark and the US. The company headquarter is in Fredrikstad, Norway.
Sustainability – at the core of our production
Sustainable production of yellowtail kingfish involves ensuring that the fish is farmed in a way that minimizes its impact on the environment and supports the long-term viability of the industry. This includes effect on our surroundings but also the health and welfare of the fish in our systems.
We have proven through years of production that we achieve strong biological results with limited mortality and with high scores on fish welfare. We do not use any medicines, antibiotics or other medikaments in our production.
We ensure limited impact on our surroundings by several activities, like treating discharge, recycling of biproducts, using sludge for biogass, constructing power-efficient systems and producing close to large consumer markets to reduce CO2 footprint from transportation.
